How to Use the Materials
Goal
The goal of this program is
to help you develop a media relations training program.
These written and audiovisual materials that are provided in this training
program will teach you how to effectively market your program stories to
the news media and how to build positive, productive relationships with
the news media in their communities. It will also help you overcome intimidation
about working with the news media.
Upon completion of the program, you
will be able to:

Objective 1: "Pitch" stories effectively
to news organizations.

news organizations and learn how to meet them.

media relations plan.

Objective 4: Feel more at-ease when
being interviewed.

combined as a training program packet. In addition, suggested activities
are provided to allow you to better integrate these materials into your
program. At the end of each suggested activity is the objective
that is addressed by the activity. (See the "Goal" section
above.)
